Third Coron conservation agreement signed

Coron, Palawan — A third conservation covenant for Coron was signed by Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) on March 17, 2016, this time with Marcilla-based organisations Samahang Katutubong Tagbanua ng Barangay Marcilla, Indigenous Cultural Community-Marcilla, Marcilla Seaweeds Growers Association and the Marcilla bgy. local government.

The covenant binds parties for conservation goals and actions for a specific locality ranging from social mobilisation, ecological monitoring and rehabilitation and socio-economic improvement of target stakeholders.

The conservation covenant is the ninth signed in the province of Palawan and Malampaya Foundation’s 23rd overall. It was witnessed by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Coron office and the local government unit of Coron.
