Following the devastations wrought by typhoons Quinta and Rolly that passed through central Philippines on October 26, 2020 (Quinta) and November 1, 2020 (Rolly), Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) provided rehabilitation support to its partner conservation communities in Oriental Mindoro and Batangas City.

Support for coastal communities were provided to help fishing communities rebuild boats and livelihood projects damaged by the two typhoons which came only one week apart. Rehabilitation and repair was likewise undertaken for conservation assets in MFI’s 13 conservation sites in the province of Oriental Mindoro, including Isla Verde of Batangas City, which included marine protected area (MPA) stations, MPA boundaries, markers and signages.


Social-conservation enterprise projects supported by MFI are likewise being assessed for damages and repairs needed to ensure these are able to operate and function in the coming weeks.

In Naujan, MFI provided food support in partnership with the Department of Energy with 977 food bags for Barangays San Antonio, Sta Cruz and San Jose.
