MFI mobilized to provide relief to victims of typhoon Haiyan (local name: Yolanda) in the northern Palawan municipalities of Coron, Culion and Busuanga. Relief was through provision of packed food, bottled water, hygiene kits and fuel.

Teams of community volunteers in Bgy. Ambulong, Batangas and Bureau of Fire Protection helped segregate and pack some initial 1,300 relief bags. Otto Energy, operator of the Galoc Oil Field, provided the transport of the goods, via their supply vessel.

In Puerto Princesa, MFI donated to the Palawan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Mgmt Council 2,000 relief bags for the municipalities of Culion and Busuanga.

MFI will likewise provide assistance for rehabilitation of homes and means of livelihood for Coron in the coming months to help victims recover from the devastation.
