Batangas City, Batangas — The Malampaya Clinical Laboratory, located in barangay Ambulong, opened its doors to the public on March 16, 2016, to provide secondary medical laboratory services to the vicinity's populace.

Operated by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Batangas Chapter, the clinical laboratory was established through a partnership between Malampaya Foundation, Batangas City government, barangay Ambulong, Department of Health region 4-A and the PRC.

The clinical laboratory aims to complement the services of the adjacent Ambulong Rural Health Unit.

Services of the laboratory are the following:

  • Routine Hematology Complete Blood Count (CBC) includes Hemoglobin Mass Concentration, Erythrocyte Volume Fraction (Hematocrit), Leucocytes Number Concentration (White Blood Cell or WBC count), Leucocytes Type Number Fraction (Differential count) and Qualitative Platelet Determination
  • Routine Clinical Chemistry includes Blood Glucose Substance Concentration, Blood Urea Nitrogen Concentration, Blood Uric Acid Substance Concentration, Blood Creatinine Concentration and Blood Total cholesterol concentration
  • Routine fecalysis and urinalysis
  • Eco-cardiogram (ECG)
