Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro-- Malampaya Foundation Inc (MFI) and its three (3) conservation-partner sites barangays Ranzo, Banilad and Pili in the municipality of Pinamalayan (Oriental Mindoro) renewed Conservation Agreements (CA's) yesterday, February 18, 2025. The communities of Ranzo and Banilad have been MFI's conservation partners since 2013, while Pili, since 2016.

Ranzo, Banilad and Pili have been consistent Top 10 Marine Protected Area (MPA) awardees at Oriental Mindoro's STAR MPA awards in the last 9 years, while the RANZO FISH SANCTUARY have landed 3rd and 2nd place at the National Para El Mar Awards in 2019 and 2023, recognized among the Best-Managed MPAs in the Philippines.

The CA's were signed by Pinamalayan Mayor Aristeo Baldos, Pinamalayan Municipal Agriculture Officer Danny Villacrusis, Banilad Bgy chief Joelito Perlas, Ranzo Bgy chief Arnel Nambio, Pili Bgy chief Gilbert Seño, people's organization leaders, MPA Mgmt Council Chairmen Exbert Famudulan, Jerry Engo, Roberto Roxas and MFI trustees Kiril Caral, Minerva Matibag and Dr. Sheila Vergara.
