Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro--Conservation-partners of barangay Ranzo (Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro) inaugurated yesterday, February 18, 2025, the community's rehabilitated water system, easing water supply problems for more than 250 households who have been resorting to manual fetching of water, many, until late at night.

The rehabilitation project was a partnership between the municipal and barangay local government units, the Ranzo conservation-partner people's organization, Malampaya Foundation Inc. (MFI) and Manila Water Foundation (MWF). MFI provided the materials, structural detailed plans, plumbing training and supervision, while MWF provided technical design and technical mentoring. The municipal and bgy LGUs provided incentives for community laborers.

Present during the inauguration were representatives from the Pinamalayan LGU lead by Mayor Aristeo Baldos, Ranzo barangay LGU officials lead by Ariel Nambio, Provincial government fisheries head Cherry Mingo, partners from the communities of Banilad and Pili, bantay dagats of Ranzo and MFI trustees and staff.

Ceremonial turn-over of a wrench, marker unveiling and opening of waterhose were the highlights of the event.
